Sustainable Development of three municipalities of the state of Tlaxcala
in Mexico The
project sought to strengthen the capacity of local groups and municipal
authorities to mobilize resources and negotiate, identify, design,
implement and evaluate projects which improve living conditions and
increase incomes in Espanita, Nacamilpa and Hueyotlipan. The project would directly benefit 1,800 small-scale producers, municipal authorities and citizens living in communities in the northern part of the state of Tlaxcala. The
project hoped to: a)
increase the earnings of low-income producers in the region by
diversifying production and promoting savings; b)
improve water and sanitation disposal systems in the region; c) strengthen community associations and participative municipal development planning processes; and d) promote environmentally sustainable forms of agricultural production.
