Assessment of IAF Financial Support for
Construyendo Alianzas, el Desarrollo Local de PROCOSAL y las ADESCO para Introducir, Ampliar, Mejorar y Mantener Sistemas de Agua

The project ES-184 intended “to set up and maintain three systems of water collection, purification and distribution of drinking water to rural/periurban communities in the outskirts of the city of San Salvador”. More broadly, the ultimate expected impact of the project was to contribute “to the development and improvement of the quality of life of the communities in El Cedro, Palo Grande and Vera Cruz,[1] in the Provinces of San Salvador and of La Liberdad, respectively, through the strengthening of Local Development Associations  (ADESCOS).

These “alliances” were designed to bring together the direct beneficiaries of the project and their respective ADESCOs in the implementation of the water systems.
